Stop 6 in Fort Worth, Texas was selected as a candidate for the first Neighborhood Improvement Strategy target area to improve neighborhood vitality and give residents paths to self-sufficiency.

To help address the area’s needs, $2.56 million was allocated in the city budget to support this program that focuses on reducing the number of felony incidents, enhancing pedestrian safety, improving residents’ perception of their community, improving neighborhood aesthetics, and leveraging additional public and private investment. The Stop 6 Transit center and two surrounding streetscapes are being redesigned to facilitate these changes.Franklin is leading the communications efforts on the redesign efforts.

The Franklin team will develop a public outreach plan to inform people about the future of Stop 6 and get their input for the plans. We will also facilitate community-wide interactions through public meetings to provide the area residents opportunities to voice their preferences and concerns for the efforts.  Each public meeting will be preceded by strategic community-wide outreach efforts and media campaigns. Franklin will deploy many different modes of media to ensure equitable access to communication.

As of November 2024, Franklin has identified Community Champions/Stakeholders in the community, including community leaders, business owners, and local officials. stakeholders, met with local officials, and prepared multilingual graphics for this project. This in-depth community analysis will prepare and educate Franklin for the next step in the communications process.
