Franklin Associates is seeking a motivated, talented individual to join our highly functional consulting firm based in Baton Rouge, LA. Over the past 17 years, we have supported state and local government clients throughout the United States to implement a wide range of programs including: disaster recovery, climate adaptation, public health, transportation, and land use planning. As our work expands, we are looking for a Communications Specialist to support our growing disaster recovery, grant management and strategic advisory services business. This role requires in-person presence Monday-Friday in Belle Chasse, LA.
Duties and Responsibilities

Managing various projects related to advisory services, disaster recovery and resilience

Oversee project budget to ensure compliance with contract

Oversee project deliverables to ensure compliance with contract

Interacting in person with clients on weekly basis
-
Maintaining written and verbal communication with clients
-
Must have availability after business hours to answer incoming calls/prepare and distribute emergency notifications as needed

Networking to learn of potential project opportunities; analyzing RFPs to derive proposal structures and requirements

Assisting with proposal development
-
Developing and delivering content and services per individual project scope across all assigned communications related projects

Participating in company’s weekly Staff Update meetings

Participating face-to-face in company’s monthly Advisory Services group meetings

Meeting regularly with supervisor to keep company leadership informed

Working proactively with other team members on deliverables
-
Evaluating potential project risks on an ongoing basis and communicating such to supervisor

Performing other related duties as required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Management related field

Five years of demonstrated experience with successful public and private project management

Equivalent types of experience as substitute are considered.
